Lonelady - Nerve Up / Early The Haste Comes / Hotel Bloedel (Black Session)

It's a shame Lonelady had to cancel her London Calling gig last friday, the night was quite boring without her. This is a cool Black Session, she plays a cover of The Fall's 'Hotel Bloedel' which you can hear below, together with 'Nerve Up' and 'Early The Haste Comes'.
I listen a lot to her album Nerve Up, which should get an 8.7 instead of a 7.7.

Interpol - Lights (New Song)

This new Interpol track has a slow build up, towards the end it gets better.
Listen and download below.

Young Knives - I love My Name

"This last year we have been writing and demoing songs for a third album. Ahead of the tour dates in May we wanted to give you a taster of the new material by putting up one of the demos. The song is called 'I Love My Name', it's sort of a song about how a name is one of the only things that you really have all your life, everything else about you moves and changes. Whilst writing this song we realised that it had a bit of an R'n'B vibe, so when we were demoing it we tried to enhance that sound. This is not the finished version and it may not even make it onto the album but we thought you would like to hear it. Hope you are well, keep the faith." -

Bis - The New Transistor Heroes

With their debut album The New Transistor Heroes Bis were ahead of their time, it wasn't the huge succes I expected it to be, there was no band sounding like this in the mid-nineties. A couple of years ago CSS stated that they were influenced by Bis. I collected all their 7 " singles, I was a big fan. The songs below still sound fresh and powerful today.

José Gonzáles - Smalltown Boy

I really like Jose Gonzales' voice and guitars, though I can't listen through a whole album, after six songs I have enough. I've always been a fan of Bronski Beats' ' Smalltown Boy' and the accompanying video. Gonzales' version is excellent.

The last time I saw The Rapture live, they opened with 'Out Of The Races And Onto The Tracks'. Bassist Matt Safer has left the band and they are currently recording their new album, four years after their last LP Pieces Of The People We Love.
