50 Foot Wave - Power + Light

Power + Light was released last year as a free mp3 and 12" vinyl. 50 Foot Wave recorded a new EP a couple of months ago called With Love From The Men's Room, there's no release date yet. Kristin Hersh called it 'a broken record' in a recent interview, with drummer Rob Ahlers playing a toy drumkit and almost killing it. 'My guitar was actually melted, literally burned. 5 strings were left on it.'

Herzog released a great split single with Yuck last year on Transparent, the power-pop anthem 'Paul Blart And The Death Of Art' . On their Transparent debut album Search, they sound a bit noisier and less like an instant hit. It took me a while to get into the record because I was expecting 10 'Paul Blarts'. The 12" vinyl is out now.
