Throwing Muses - Carnival Wig
'Carnival Wig' is one of the best TM songs ever, it's from Red Heaven. It's one of those Kristin Hersh songs that kick in hard every time I hear it. The guitar sounds lonely and then all of a sudden there's this scream that goes right to my nerves.Throwing Muses are mixing their new record at the moment. It has 35 songs so it's making up for all the years without Throwing Muses record.
The band has just released the third chapter of their Season Sessions. The sessions accompany Kristin Hersh's novel Paradoxical Undressing and are released on the first day of every new season. The spring session has 'Carnival Wig'. Download Fall, Winter and Spring here.
I couldn't upload the track on soundcloud because of some copyright thing, so here's a video of the band playing 'Carnival Wig' in 2000:

tUnE-yArDs - My Country
tUnE-yArDs' new record W H O K I L L is crazy, there's so much going on in every song. A lot of samples, vocal loops, trumpets and ideas. The single 'Bizness' already showed a lot of potential. I think this is going to be as big as Dirty Projectors' Bitte Orca (or maybe the Projectors are just my association with tUnE-yArDs because I saw her opening for DP once). Listen to 'My Country' below.

Charles De Goal - Exposition
Charles De Goal was a French punk / coldwave band that released their records without any information on band members which greatly intrigued fans. The anonymity lasted five years until they had their first gig in 1985.
Captured Tracks is reissuing a lot of great stuff this year and they also have their hands on Charles De Goal. They will release the first two LP's Algorythmes from 1980 and Ici L'Ombre from 1982 later this year on vinyl, CD and DL.

Sebadoh - Careful
Sub Pop are reissuing Sebadoh's masterpiece Bakesale this summer. I love that record, it's full of good songs. I always like Lou Barlow's songs more than the ones penned by Jason Loewenstein, with the exception of 'Careful' (stream is below). For me this song is the heart of the record, straightforward and intense. I can listen to it on repeat for a long time.
Also below the video's for Bakesale singles 'Skull' and 'Rebound'.

Blue On Blue - Come Down Girl
Blue On Blue will release their first double A-side single in early June on Oh Genesis Records, the new label from Tim Burgess of The Charlatans. 'Come Down Girl' is one track from it. It's a gorgeous popsong that got stuck in my head immediately. It has the atmospheric feel of their last track 'Summer Daze', with more prominent drums and structure. The stream is here. Below two new demo's of tracks the band are currently working on.

Kate Jackson - Weightless
A new demo from ex-Long Blondes singer Kate Jackson. It's quite long, when you think it's about to make a point it goes on. I like it but it could use some editing. It's good to see her back though. The two previous demo's 'The Atlantic' and 'Homeward Bound' are here.
